What Is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?

How Does Cosmetic Dental Bonding Work?

Dental bonding is a rather simple procedure. First, Dr. Yoshida will clean the area where she will apply the bonding resin. Then, she will choose a resin that matches your tooth color. Afterwards, she will attach and mold the resin to the shape of the tooth. The resin is applied layer by layer until the area has the desired look. Dr. Yoshida will then harden the resin using an ultraviolet light. Once the resin has hardened, the last step is to make sure that the tooth looks correct. The final step is to polish the tooth.

Anyone interested in dental bonding should be aware that resin can stain and is most likely to do so within the first few hours after treatment. This is why it’s important that you avoid drinking liquids like coffee, tea, or red wine. You should also not smoke during this time.

Dr. Yoshida is the BEST! Besides being excellent at her job, she is one of the most thoughtful, gentle dentists' you will ever meet. She has elevated the dental experience and I routinely tell my friends it's as close as I often get to a spa treatment with the massage chair, heated neck wraps and music in your ears while she works on you! And it's alway pain free. I don't think you could find a better dentist, she's the best!
